At Pennant Media Group, we are a boutique communications and public relations firm, bringing creative marketing strategies to our clients. Every client who walks though our door has an extraordinary product, service, story or talent to share.
Whether introducing a new brand or repositioning an existing one, it is our job to connect with our clients’ brand and deliver it to key audiences and markets, raising public awareness and generating new business opportunities for them. Our communications vehicle is through the power of media relations and social media outreach.
Based out of Toronto, with affiliates in Montreal, New York and Los Angeles, PMG specializes in the entertainment, film, television, music, fashion, hospitality and lifestyle sectors. We work with clients ranging from actors, comedians, models, musicians, authors and filmmakers to consumer products, restaurants, publishers and charities.
Who We Are
Kevin Pennant
Founder/Creative Director
Kevin Pennant brings over 20 years progressive communications and media relations experience to our client projects. He launched Pennant Media Group in 2003, having previously served as Director of Public Relations and co-founder of The Publicity Group – a boutique public relations company he helped found with actress Tonya Lee Williams. Before that, Kevin served as a Publicist with Warner Bros. Canada for seven years.
Kevin has a vast repertoire that is comprised of the “who’s who” of the entertainment and business worlds. His talent and contribution to Canadian and international public relations was recognized with his induction into the first and second annual Who’s Who in Black Canada. Recently, Kevin was awarded the ReelWorld Film Festival Trailblazer Award at its 10th annual Brunch with Brilliance. This award recognizes the accomplishments of ethnically diverse industry professionals whose work has made an impact in Canadian entertainment.
In the fall of 2006, Kevin traveled to South Africa to attend Bishop Tutu’s 75th birthday party. During this voyage, he had the honour of joining Winnie Mandikizela Mandela at a private breakfast meeting, while on another occasion meeting Nelson Mandela. During this trip, he developed a full understanding of South Africa’s social/political environment, including issues pertaining to segregation, AIDS and heritage.
Daniel Schneider
Associate Publicist
Daniel Schneider has played an instrumental role at Pennant Media Group for seven years, functioning as a media relations specialist, marketing advisor and project manager. Having worked at PMG since its second year of development, he has taken on an integral part in the expansion of the company, participating in all activities related to employee relations, new business, client consultation and media outreach. He is active in bringing increased brand awareness for clients in the entertainment, film, television, music, fashion, hospitality and lifestyle sectors. In addition, Daniel teaches Marketing Public Relations at Humber Institute of Technology, in the Department of Continuing Education.
Amira de Vera
Assistant Publicist
Amira joined the Pennant Media Group team as a graduate from Carleton University. Studying in the capital has given her opportunities to work on several publicity campaigns including promotion for the Young Liberals of Ontario, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and All-Women’s Services and Organizations. Amira moved to Toronto in the Fall of 2009, where she expanded her experience helping out with events such as Toronto Fashion Week. Since she has started at Pennant Media Group, Amira has worked as project leader on clients such as Rachel Wilson (CBC’s Republic of Doyle), Tanya Kim (etalk), eco-friendly beauty product bodyFood and Canadian household food brand Ozery’s Pita Break.
How We Do It
At Pennant Media Group, we contact print, radio, television and online media outlets on behalf of clients, arranging editorial opportunities and raising public awareness. PMG promotes and facilitates media events such as press conferences, release parties, product launches, junkets, public appearances and other newsworthy activities.
We also provide social media support, by sending out messages through vehicles, such as Twitter, Facebook and other digital apps, driving online traffic and generating buzz for the clients’ brand on a consistent basis.
