Toronto – March 1st, 2017
On March 6, 2017, at the Toronto City Hall Rotunda, Myseum of Toronto is launching its second annual festival of free exhibits and events exploring the city’s natural, cultural, and historical diversity. The Myseum Intersections 2017festival kicks off with a public celebration of Toronto’s 183rd birthday.
Through the end of March, Myseum Intersections invites the public to experience how Toronto’s cultures intersect and converge to create a new understanding of the city’s multiple dimensions, illuminating the past, present, and future.
The festival features 36 projects that take place at venues throughout Toronto, and explores historic and contemporary issues presented via exhibits, events, and interactive community experiences. Myseum Intersections presents a wide range of programming that will inspire a deeper appreciation for the richness of our city.
“Instead of asking people to come to one location to explore art, culture, and history, Myseum delivers programming to all corners of the city, presenting rich and relevant online and offline experiences,” says Karen Carter, Executive Director, Myseum of Toronto. “Our focus on co-creation and collaboration allows all Torontonians to partake in curating our city’s social and historical narratives. Myseum celebrates the reality that our city is the exhibit – it’s all around us.”
In addition to partnering with over 100 institutions and individuals, this year Myseum is proud to join launch partnerCelebrate Toronto as they host an outdoor skate party at Nathan Phillips Square to celebrate Toronto’s birthday.
Myseum Intersections 2017 launches on March 6, 2017 – Toronto’s birthday – from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Toronto City Hall Rotunda (100 Queen Street West) and runs through March 31, 2017.
